Sajaya Girls: The Light of Sharjah This Ramadan

Under the Theme “You Are Sharjah’s Light, and Sajaya Is Your Journey to Shine,” Sajaya Launches Its Ramadan Campaign to Empower and Inspire Girls

Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, an affiliate of the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, has launched its Ramadan campaign, featuring a series of innovative community initiatives designed to empower girls and engage them in meaningful, value-driven activities throughout the holy month.

This special campaign offers girls aged 13 to 18 a unique opportunity to participate in enriching programs that blend art, life skills, ethics, etiquette, languages, sports, and theater, with the goal of nurturing their talents and helping them build a confident and creative future.

As part of this effort, Sajaya introduced five community-driven initiatives combining digital, interactive, and on-ground activities, demonstrating its continued commitment to empowering girls and strengthening their role in society through a journey of creativity and impact.

Key Highlights of the Campaign:

  • “Your Coffee’s on Us” Initiative
In partnership with Onz Café and in collaboration with TBT Café in Sharjah, Kalba, and Khorfakkan, girls can enjoy a complimentary treat by simply introducing themselves. This gesture symbolizes Sajaya’s ongoing effort to build bridges with young women and create a friendly, interactive space for connection and community. Informational brochures will also be distributed to raise awareness about Sajaya’s mission and role in empowering girls.
  • Ramadan Prayer Bead Workshop
Girls will learn the art of handcrafting tasbeeh (prayer beads) with designs inspired by the spirit of Ramadan. The beads will be distributed after Taraweeh prayers, encouraging family bonding and community participation. This activity is held in collaboration with the Sharjah Islamic Affairs Department and supports youth entrepreneurship and local craftsmanship.
  • “Ramadan Friday” Challenges
Every Friday, Sajaya will launch interactive Instagram challenges blending fun, creativity, and giving. Girls will get the chance to win valuable prizes by sharing their special Ramadan moments.
  • “Ramadan Around the World”
A cultural exploration initiative where girls share photos and stories about Ramadan traditions from different cultures, encouraging openness, diversity, and intercultural appreciation.
  • Visits to Senior Citizens
In collaboration with the Sharjah Social Services Department, Sajaya girls will visit senior citizens, engage in heartfelt conversations, and learn from their life stories. They will present handmade gifts to express respect and gratitude, fostering compassion and community connection.
  • “The Emirati Home Experience”
In partnership with the Sharjah Museums Authority, girls will experience the atmosphere of a traditional Emirati home and learn about authentic values such as generosity, hospitality, and modesty through engaging activities that celebrate heritage and national identity.

Through these initiatives, Sajaya aims not just to offer Ramadan-themed programs, but to inspire a generation of confident, creative, and compassionate young women, ready to contribute to the development of their society and shape the future with a spirit of giving and innovation.
