The Rubu’ Qarn Center for Theater and Performing Arts is preparing to present the community theater initiative “Furjan Theater 2024”, a project that aims to foster engagement among neighborhood residents and spotlight local theatrical talent. The performances will take place from January 3 to 5, 2025, at Kshisha Park, under the theme “A Family that Loves Theater”—a unique opportunity to blend artistic creativity with the warmth of family spirit.
The shows are the result of year-long efforts throughout 2024, with over 30 teams participating, and 5 teams from various neighborhoods across Sharjah qualifying to compete in the Furjan Theater experience.
A variety of performances will be showcased daily from 5 PM to 9 PM, featuring competitive theatrical productions created by talented individuals from Sharjah’s neighborhoods. A winning team will be selected by a panel of judges. In addition, six guest performances will be presented by members of the Rubu’ Qarn Center for Theater and Performing Arts.
The Furjan Theater project seeks to actively involve local communities in theatrical arts and creative expression. It is one of the key initiatives of the Rubu’ Qarn Center, built around specialized workshops aimed at discovering emerging talent and guiding them along the right creative path.
The project also supports recruiting new members to the Rubu’ Qarn institutions, with a broader goal of developing theatrical skills and enhancing community participation.
