Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah Continues Community Initiatives During Ramadan with Creativity and Compassion
As part of its ongoing efforts to foster a spirit of giving and community engagement during the holy month of Ramadan, Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah has launched new initiatives, the latest of which is “A Creative Touch.” This initiative aims to promote creativity while instilling values of generosity and participation.
The program includes a handcrafted prayer bead (masbahah) workshop, where Sajaya members design and create tasbeeh in an artistic manner. The prayer beads are then distributed to worshippers at mosques in Sharjah after Taraweeh prayers, showcasing the girls’ creativity and community spirit.
Another heartfelt initiative, “A Gesture of Gratitude at the Elderly Home,” involves visiting senior citizens with the goal of building bridges between generations and strengthening social bonds. The visit offers an opportunity for meaningful conversations, learning from the rich life experiences of the elderly, and presenting handmade gifts as a gesture of respect and appreciation. It also helps participants develop interpersonal and emotional skills.
The “Emirati Home” initiative offers participants a cultural immersion into authentic Emirati traditions. Through a Ramadan Iftar gathering, Sajaya girls share a meal and experience the warmth of Emirati hospitality. The initiative includes interactive activities that highlight timeless values such as generosity, modesty, and hospitality, while encouraging girls to connect with their national heritage.
Through these community-driven initiatives, Sajaya continues to empower young women not only as creative individuals, but as active members of society, spreading kindness, cultural appreciation, and social awareness throughout the month of Ramadan.
